Laurie Gough is a journalist and award-winning author of three memoirs: Kite Strings of the Southern Cross: A Woman’s Travel Odyssey (Random House); Kiss the Sunset Pig: An American Road Trip with Exotic Detours (Penguin); and Stolen Child: A Mother’s Journey to Rescue Her Son from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (Dundurn). Join author Laurie Gough for a weekend writing retreat—Friday evening until Sunday afternoon—on Lake Antoine in the Gatineau Hills. You’ll learn how to bring your own unique stories to life on the page (and around the campfire!) in a spectacular setting and make new friends along the way. Through discussions of specific topics about writing (memoir or fiction) and writing exercises that are fun and thought-provoking, you’ll learn how to craft your stories into inspiring narratives. If you come with a piece of writing to share and would like feedback on, all the better! There will also be time throughout the weekend for writing, swimming, strolling the woods, and both evenings, storytelling around the campfire. Everyone welcome!

Joignez-vous à l'auteur Laurie Gough pour une retraite d'écriture d'une fin de semaine - du vendredi soir au dimanche après-midi - sur le lac Antoine dans les collines de la Gatineau. Vous apprendrez comment donner vie à vos histoires uniques sur la page (et autour du feu de camp !) dans un cadre spectaculaire et vous vous ferez de nouveaux amis en cours de route. Grâce à des discussions sur des sujets précis concernant l'écriture (mémoire ou fiction) et à des exercices d'écriture à la fois amusants et stimulants, vous apprendrez à transformer vos histoires en récits inspirants. Si vous venez avec un texte à partager et que vous souhaitez recevoir des commentaires, c'est encore mieux ! Tout au long du week-end, vous aurez également le temps d'écrire, de nager, de vous promener dans les bois et, les deux soirs, de raconter des histoires autour du feu de camp. Tout le monde est le bienvenu !
